30 Day Exercise Challenge

I have a simple challenge for you. Everyday for 30 days straight do these movements/exercises.

1) Walk indoors or outdoors (outdoors is better) for at least 10 minutes
2) 3 neck circles in both directions
3) 3 arm circles in both directions (one arm at a time)
4) 3 hip circles in both directions (one leg at a time)
5) Cat-Cow 20 reps
6) Be on the ground for 2 mins

For all the joint circles the range of motion must be pain free. If it hurts to make a big circle, do a smaller one. Same goes for Cat-Cow, pick a range where there is no pain throughout the entirety of the motion. It doesn’t matter if it’s a very small range. Over time it should improve. As for being on the floor, I want you to change your position every 30 seconds. It can be sitting, kneeling, laying down, rolling, etc. It just should not hurt.

During these exercises focus on breathing in and out through the nose, and making the exhale long and slow.

Take a mental note how you feel on day 1 compared to day 30. Is it easier to get up and down off the ground? Can you make bigger circles? Is walking and breathing through the nose easier?

This may seem simple, but just adding these basic things to your daily routine will help improve your joint health.

If you have any questions about these movements/exercises, please schedule an appointment here!
