The gastric balloon is placed in the upper body of the stomach during a simple, 4-10 minute procedure at Gastroenterology of Westchester, a DOH accredited single specialty ASC under the expertise of Dr. Jose Lantin. It is performed under local sedation via upper endoscopy. The Orbera is then filled with sterile water. Once inflated, the balloon takes up space in your stomach. Therefore, you will feel satiated—full—sooner. This causes you to eat less. In our practice, patients lose 10-17 pounds in the 1st 10-14 days. Guidance, follow-up and collaboration is constant.
